As standard a Facebook User Profile URL will look like http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1464350967 which is long and not suitable for you to use it on your name card, banner, or other method of offline promotion. The long URL can be shortened to a URL of your choice depending on availability and I will show you how to do it.
- First you need to login into your Facebook account and after that, just type facebook.com/username in your browser’s address bar. You will be directed to the page to customize the URL.
- The page will automatically show your Facebook profile URL (estimated username) and the link for you to customize your fan page URL.
- From the given options for Username, choose your appropriate Username for your Profile. Then click on Check Availability. A pop-up window will open like the following image.
- Click on the Confirm Button to set your desired Username for your Facebook Profile. Hence you will have desired Profile URL.
- Now to set desired URL for your Facebook pages, select one of your fan pages from the "Pages" dropdown menu. On selecting a page from this dropdown menu, a text-box (Enter desired username) will appear next to the page name. *Note that this option will only available if your fan page has more than 25 fans.
- Enter your desired username for the page and check the availability. This action can be done only once so choose your username (URL) very carefully.
- When everything is done your page URL should look like this: facebook.com/yoururl.
